About This Tool
Introduction — What Is a Mirror Text Generator?
Mirror text is writing that looks as though it is being viewed in a mirror — letters flipped horizontally and read right to left. Leonardo da Vinci famously wrote his notebooks this way.
This mirror text generator produces four related effects: true mirror writing, plain backwards text, reversed word order, and per-word mirroring. All of them copy and paste as ordinary text.
How Mirror Text Actually Works
Genuine mirror writing needs two things to happen at once: the reading order has to reverse, and each individual letter has to be replaced with a horizontally flipped counterpart. Reversing alone just spells a word backwards — it does not look mirrored.
Unicode has no dedicated "mirrored alphabet", so this tool substitutes characters from other scripts that happen to look like flipped Latin letters — Cyrillic Я for R, Ǝ for E, ᗡ for D, and so on. The match is close but not perfect for every letter, which is why some characters look more convincingly flipped than others.

The Four Mirror Modes Explained
Mirror — True mirror writing — every letter is swapped for a flipped lookalike and the whole string is reversed.
Reversed — Character order reversed only, with the letters left as they are. Reads backwards but does not look mirrored.
Reversed Words — Word order reversed while each word stays readable. Useful for scrambling a sentence.
Mirror Each Word — Each word mirrored in place, so the word order still makes sense.
Why Choose This Mirror Text Generator?
- Real mirroring, not just reversal — most tools only reverse the string
- Four distinct modes for different effects
- Honest about accuracy — we explain why some letters flip better than others
- No sign-up or popups

FAQ
What is a mirror text generator?
It is a tool that converts text into mirror writing by reversing the reading order and replacing each letter with a horizontally flipped lookalike character, producing text that reads correctly in a mirror.
What is the difference between mirror and reversed text?
Reversed text only changes the character order, so the letters still face the normal way. Mirror text also swaps each letter for a flipped counterpart, which is what makes it look genuinely mirrored.
Why do some mirrored letters look wrong?
Unicode has no complete mirrored alphabet, so the tool borrows lookalike characters from other scripts. Letters like R, E and D have good matches; a few others are approximations.
Will mirror text read correctly in an actual mirror?
Closely, yes — that is the intent. Letters using approximate substitutes will look slightly off, but the text is readable held up to a mirror.
Does mirror text work on Instagram and Discord?
Yes. The output is standard Unicode, so it pastes into bios, usernames, captions and messages without issue.
Can I reverse it back to normal text?
The Reversed mode is fully reversible — run it twice and you get the original. True Mirror is not, because the substituted characters are different from the originals.
Is this mirror text generator free?
Yes — unlimited use, no account, no premium tier.
