What Is a Braille Translator?
Braille is a system of raised dots. People read it with their fingers, not their eyes. Each letter uses its own small pattern of dots. This tool turns your text into real Braille Unicode marks. It also works the other way. Paste Braille in, and get plain text back.
How Braille Works
Each Braille letter fits in a small block called a cell. A cell has six dot spots, in two columns of three. Some dots are raised. Some are not. That pattern of raised dots spells out one letter. The letter A is just one dot, in the top left spot.

This tool has two modes. Use "Text → Braille" to turn plain words into real Braille marks. Use "Braille → Text" to flip a Braille string back into plain words. Both update live, right as you type.

A Short History of Braille
Braille was built by Louis Braille, in France, in the 1820s. He lost his sight as a young child. He wanted a real reading system built for touch. He was just 15 when he built the core of it. It later spread to schools around the world. It is still the main touch system today.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Expecting real capital letters back. Basic Braille marks a letter, not its case. Turning Braille back to text gives you all small letters. The dot pattern alone can not show case.
- Skipping the number sign. Real Braille needs a special mark before a run of digits. That mark tells a reader numbers are coming. This tool adds it for you.
- Treating this as full, real Braille. This tool covers core Grade 1 Braille. Real Braille books often use short, packed forms called Grade 2. This tool does not build those forms.
Braille vs. Morse Code
Both Braille and Morse code turn letters into a small set of signs. Braille uses raised dots, made for touch. Morse uses short and long beeps, made for sound or light. One was built for the hand. The other was built for the wire.

Is this real, standard Braille?.
Yes. It uses the real Grade 1 Braille dot marks. Each letter, number, and common mark gets its true pattern.
Why does converting Braille back to text lose capital letters?.
Basic Braille dots do not show case on their own. Real Braille uses a special dot mark before a capital letter. This simple tool does not add that mark.
Can I feel these dots on my screen?.
No. This tool shows the real Unicode Braille marks on screen, but a screen is flat. Real, raised Braille needs a special printer or an embosser.
Does this cover Grade 2 Braille?.
No. This tool covers Grade 1, where each letter gets its own full pattern. Grade 2 uses short forms for common words. That is a separate system, and a harder one.
